Motor Fleet Insurance

If your business has more than two vehicles, you qualify for Fleet Insurance. This is often a more cost-effective solution for your business than insuring vehicles individually, as well as being completely flexible as your business adapts and changes over time. At JMP our cover is scalable, meaning you can add vehicles to your cover as your business grows or can remove vehicles if you are downscaling.

You have a legal obligation to insure your fleet appropriately.

No matter how many vehicles you have, from two to 200 and beyond, we offer a combined fleet solution for cars, vans, heavy goods, specialist vehicles, or minibuses. We can source the best cover for you from a range of A-Rated insurers, providing our knowledge and expertise to add value to get you the best premiums available.

At JMP, we can provide guidance on which type of fleet policy is right for your business and your needs.

There are typically three categories to consider when choosing the correct fleet policy for your business which we can support you with:

  1. Own Goods
Many fleets fall into this category. This is where vehicles are used mainly for business purposes. Most tradespeople will find this the most suitable category to select. When choosing this type of policy, you will need to consider the type of contents you are carrying in your vehicle. For example, if you transport tools and/or stock, you will need to declare this to ensure they are adequately covered under ‘Goods in transit’ – if you are unsure, we can support you with this.
  2. Carriage of goods for hire and reward
The second type of policy available when it comes to your fleet is the transportation of third-party goods. Typically used for couriers and removal companies. This cover protects the contents you are taking from A to B on behalf of someone else. This cover insures the vehicle if it is involved in an accident while making the delivery and protects the contents.
  3. Declaration basis
Depending on your fleet profile you may fall into cover on a declaration basis. Typically, this policy is suitable for larger fleets or where there are frequent changes of vehicles or use of hire vehicles. This cover gives you an ‘open certificate’ meaning that any vehicle operated by your business is covered by your fleet insurance. Providing even more flexibility.
